Alexandros Christopoulos

 

Through the early 90's he studied Marketing & Finance with an emphasis in stock brokerage while he also worked for the Greek Union of writers for the media. He started broadcasting in 1984 (he made his first steps working for various radio stations such as ECHO FM, ALPHA FM and KISS FM ). In May 1997 he hosted a nightly show on Nitro Radio 102.5 which attracted listeners across Greece on weekdays from 10 to 12 pm. His residency at Nitro Radio ended in 2003. Less than a year later he started a new cooperation with BEST RADIO 92.6 (Athen's avant garde radio station) where he has been hosting / producing a nightly show on weekdays from 10 to 12 pm driven by fresh ideas and new concepts. During his collaboration with Nitro Radio and Best Radio he has been able to establish his immaculate taste in music, this is probably why his show is rated among the top night shows on the FM dial. In 1996 he began working with Planetworks Music and was promoted to Label Manager in 2000. His tenure with Planetworks was brought to full circle in 2005. He also enjoys producing for television. In 1998 he collaborated with MAD TV as the production manager of "Heineken Dance Zone" the only television show in Greece dedicated to the dance music scene. He stimultaneously worked as an editor for BIG and Virgin Megastore magazines. For the past several years he has also been working in the broadcasting industry as voice over talent. In 2000 he took over Media Relations for club NV. After his successful work with club NV he was hired by the company that owns the most exclusive clubs in Greece (VENUE, PRIVILEGE, MERCEDES, PASSA, DESTIJL & BONDAGE) where he has been functioning as director of Marketing and Media relations since 2001. In December of 2005 he became one of the co-creators of VENUE CAFE @ The Mall, the largest shopping center in the Balkans and one of the largest in Europe. Since 2000 he has been a regular contributor at hte Winter Music Conference (Southbeach, Miami). During the summer of 2001 he compiled the 2cd set "Sunset & Sunrise", the most successful compilation of lounge music in the Greek market with more than 45000 sales to date. With the opportunity of this release he was able to express his personal musical style & preferences for the very first time. The most recent installment of this highly sought after compilation series, was released in late June of 2006. As a true believer of quality versus quantity he can rarely bee seen DJing at various high profile clubs all over Greece, as well as his own typically sold out venues, "ESTHETE" & "FOOL MOON". The highlight of his DJ career was his tour with Jose Padilla during the summer of 2001. In a recent interview, Jose Padilla rated him as the No. 3 compiler worldwide. "La Suite" a stylish CD collection inspired by the hippest hotels, originally conceptualized and brought to life in December of 2003, has sold more than 24000 units to date. His vision and zealous originality inspired him to bring the "Hotel/Club" culture to Greece. He has been promoting and organizing exclusive parties at some of the best hotels in Greece since 1996 (Athens Hilton, Grand Bretagne, King George, St. George Lycabettus, Semiramis, Life Gallery, Grand Resort Lagonisi, Athens Plaza, Club Hotel Casino Loutraki, Kempinski etc...) These events have steadily been reaching "sold out" status since 2003 as they also became an excellent complement to the "La Suite" compilation series. In late September of 2006 his collaboration with EMPORIO ARMANI led to the creation of yet another promising compilation titled "REMIX" He has been nominated as the "MAN OF THE YEAR 2007" at STATUS Magazine Awards in the category of Radio / On-air Personalities. In July 2011 he releases his first compilation of his new series SUN:SET through Klik Records.
